SAMP announces the enhancement of its high-quality gear manufacturing capacity. SAMP announces the enhancement of its high-quality gear manufacturing capacity by putting into operation its new plant in Shanghai, which produces high-quality cylindrical spur and helical gears for robotics, railroad locomotion and for precision gear sets up to an outside diameter of 400 mm and up to module 8. The new Chinese subsidiary has a capacity of 150,000 cylindrical gears per year and relies on the same equipment and technology in use in the production plant in Bentivoglio, Italy. Clients can therefore ask for their products to be delivered from both manufacturing sites, being assured that quality will be exactly the same.
The main objective of the new plant in Shanghai is to provide support to Asian clients, avoiding time-consuming shipments from Europe while offering high-precision gear manufacturing solutions and helping them achieve long lasting success. High product quality standards are achieved through technical expertise, professionalism and great teamwork. Every person in the new plant, including all managers and operators, have been trained by the parent company in Bentivoglio. Moreover, all collaborators are required to report to the Italian management.
Inaugurated in 2012, the new production plant has a total surface of approximately 4,000 square meters and is conveniently located next to the other two divisions, Samputensili and Sampsistemi, in the Shanghai district of Jiading – one of the most important economic, financial, commercial and telecommunication hubs of the People’s Republic of China.
On top of this, the manufacturing plant in Bentivoglio has been upgraded with state-of-the-art robotic cells for ID and OD grinding and for precise chamfering and deburring. At the same time, the production capacity for bevel gears has been doubled. This way the Sampingranaggi total production capacity in Italy has been enhanced by over 30%.
